Description
Octavo, [in three volumes], L, [2], 908pp; LIV, [2], 1019p; XLIV, [2], 1007pp. Black polished calf, title in gilt on spine, raised bands, decorative gilt inlay on covers. “Frank Sinatra” in gilt on front panel of each volume. Faint rubbing at extremities. Bound in leather by California Bookbinding, with associated tag on front endpaper. From the personal library of Frank Sinatra, an avid Kennedy supporter and friend of the President. After the assassination of the President in 1963, Nancy Sinatra noted that her dad cried for days. It may be the reason he chose this black leather copy of the presidential papers.
Comments: Frank Sinatra (1915-1998) was an actor, singer, producer and political supporter. He is considered by many to be the “greatest singer of the 20th Century.” In 2018, Sotheby’s auctioned off part of the estate of Frank Sinatra’s wife, Barbara Sinatra. This collection included numerous pieces from their homes in Los Angeles, Malibu and Palm Springs. This book came from the personal collection of the family.
