Bobbie Ann Mason (b. 1940) is a novelist, literary critic, and Pulitzer Prize finalist. In Country was her first novel, and was adapted into a film starring Bruce Willis and Emily Lloyd in 1989. Shiloh and Other Stories is a collection of short stories that predates In Country and provided Mason with her first critical acclaim as a writer.
