Octavo, 476pp. Black cloth, title in gilt on spine. Stated “First Published 1945” on copyright page. Front cover slightly bent inward at top and bottom, gilt lettering rubbed, light wear along edges, corners worn. Slight lean to text block, light foxing along top edge. Clean text, no marks or notations. Last signature loose at bottom, but still attached, overall binding is stable. Previous ownership notation in black ink on front free endpaper. In publisher’s original dust jacket, price-clipped, toning to spine and verso, light chipping to corners, soiling to back panel. Archival repairs to spine ends and front flap fold. That Hideous Strength is the third and final installment of C.S. Lewis’ science fiction epic known as the Space Trilogy or Cosmic Trilogy. The first two novels are Out of the Silent Planet (1938) and Perelandra (1943).
