Special Collector’s Edition of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, published by The Easton Press in 1981. This limited edition piece features a fore-edge painting by Martin Frost.
Thick octavo, xxvi, 764pp. Full black leather, decorated with gilt stamped fingerprints. Four raised bands, title in gilt on spine, all edges gilt. Silk endpapers, with a red silk bookmark sewn in. Solid text block, a fine example. Housed in a matching black cloth slipcase, title in black on paper label affixed to cover. This copy includes a fore-edge painting by Martin Frost, depicting Holmes with his signature armchair and pipe, as well as two scenes from the adventures.
