Octavo, xvi, [17] – [275], [1] pp. Blue woven cloth, title with gilt and black decorations stamped on covers and spine. Half-title printed on verso of frontispiece. Cream white endpapers, hinges starting to crack along both endpapers. Binding a bit shaken. Lacks a publisher’s catalogue at rear, as found in earlier editions. Some loss of gilt on spine, light soiling to cloth on both covers. A presentable early edition of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
