Facsimile reproduction of the Glenriddell Manuscripts, from a limited edition of 150 copies. Solid text blocks, light wear along joints, a touch of rubbing to tips, a near fine example. Signed by John Gribbel, previous owner of the Glenriddell Manuscripts and the one responsible for the printing of this limited edition set.
After many years of studying American colonial documents and seventeenth century English writings, John Gribbel received an offer to purchase the Glenriddell Manuscripts of Robert Burns in 1913. Gribbel purchased the collection and promptly gifted them to the Scots Committee to return the documents to Robert Burns’ home country of Scotland. These two volumes are facsimile copies of the complete collection, along with copies of the correspondence between Gribbel and the Scots Committee.
