Previous ownership inscription and small bookplate opposite the half-title, dated “October, 1962.” Internally clean, solid text block. In the publisher’s first state dust jacket, $6.95 on front flap, a few closed tears along the top edge, light shelf wear, a very good example.
A scarce first printing of this Pulitzer Prize recipient.
The Guns of August, written by Barbara Tuchman, won the Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction in 1963, establishing Tuchman’s reputation as a skilled historian and narrative writer.
