Rebacked with original morocco spine laid down on new leather, new leather laid down over boards with portions of original morocco preserved on corners and along spine. Title in gilt on spine, four raised bands with decorative gilt compartments. New endpapers. All edges gilt. Solid text block, light rubbing to edges and spine. Intermittent foxing, occasional finger mark. A near fine example. Complete with 28 full-page chromolithographs with tissue guards, including frontispiece, with numerous wood engravings throughout text. (Jones 262) (Nissen ZBI 3842)
