Octavo, [two volumes], ix, 650pp, [4]; [8], [651] – 1283, [3]. Three-quarter goatskin morocco, maroon boards, title stamped in gilt on the spine. No additional printings noted. Top edge gilt. Light rubbing tip of the spine, front hinge of Volume I showing some wear, but stable. Both volumes include a frontispiece portrait of James A. Garfield. An attractive presentation.
