Octavo, 287pp, [1]. Red cloth, title in blue with decorative illustrations in silver, blue and green. All covers worn, some loss and fading to cloth at bottom of spine. Faint dampstain to top edge of text block, limited impact to text. Ownership stamp near top edge of title page. Illustrated endpapers, both hinges starting to separate, text block stable. A complete example, with 16 full-color tipped-in plates, all with typeset captions, illustrated by John R. Neill. This is the second state, with “Published, July, 1904″ on copyright page, text block on page 4 at 5-3/8” tall. In Binding B red cloth, title outlined in silver.
