Previous ownership inscription in pencil of Volume I, dated 1888. Text block is sound, lightly read. A very good set.

Comments: On the Origin of Species was first published in 1859 by John Murray. The first publication was limited to 1500 copies. This sixth edition was the first to change the title from “On The Origin of Species” to “The Origin of Species.”
