Octavo, 37pp, [1]. Gray cloth, title stamped in burgundy on cover and spine. Stated “Second edition, May 1942” on copyright page. Offsetting to endpapers from dust jacket. In the publisher’s scarce dust jacket, $0.75 on front flap, light sunning to spine, hinges delicate but stable. Includes two letters from contributors to the book, Raymond Clapper and George Fielding Eliot, both affixed to the second free endpaper. This copy is signed by Vice President Wallace on the front free endpaper. A scarce signed title.
Henry A. Wallace (1888-1965) served as the 33rd Vice President of the United States alongside Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1941-1945. He was considered too liberal for party leaders going into the 1944 Democratic National Convention and was replaced by Harry S. Truman.
