American author William Faulkner (1897-1962) wrote about the American South. His work won both a Nobel Prize in Literature and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, twice. A few specific pieces (most notably The Sound and the Fury) are considered to be in the top 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century. The Reivers was the last novel written and released by Faulkner before his death in July 1962. The Reivers won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1963.
