A fine example, the best we’ve encountered.

The first edition of The Rough Riders was issued on May 20, 1899 at a price of $2.00, consisting of 5000 copies. The book was reprinted twice in 1899. It was issued with a dust jacket, but none are known to exist. A second and third issue were published in 1899, both identical to the first state. This copy is from the library Walter R. Peterson Jr. (1922-2011), who served as the 72nd Governor of New Hampshire from 1969-1973.
