Solid text block, small bumps to corners, a near fine example. In the publisher’s second state dust jacket, $2.00 retail price, a few chips to top edge, losses to head and tail to spine. Splitting to edge of front flap, still solid. No retouching to dust jacket.

Signed on the front free endpaper: “Langston Hughes / Cleveland, January 29, 1931.”
