Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer, was born on May 20, 1964, in London, England. He is the younger brother of Diana, Princess of Wales. Educated at Eton College and later at Magdalen College, Oxford, he pursued a career in journalism, working as a correspondent for NBC News from 1986 to 1995. Spencer has authored several books, including The Spencer Family and Blenheim: Battle for Europe. He inherited the earldom in 1992 upon the death of his father, John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer, and manages the Althorp estate, the Spencer family seat. Charles is also known for his poignant eulogy at Diana’s funeral in 1997, where he vowed to protect her memory and her sons, Princes William and Harry .
