Quarto, [two volumes in one]. Full brown textured calf, title in gilt on the spine, five decorative compartments on spine, raised bands. Light foxing to endpapers, silk bookmark. All edges gilt. Binding by D. Davies of Cowbridge. Both hinges reinforced, spine rebacked with matching calf, original laid down. This work is complete with engraved titles, two engraved frontispiece portraits, and 59 engraved plates, after sketches by Robert Elliott. Even toning to plates, all with tissue covers. An attractive work.
