Full color lithograph, white matte finish. Lithograph measures 14.5″ x 23.75″, full matte measures 28″ x 17.25″. Light bump to lower left corner, no impact to lithograph. Printed on verso, “Where The Wild Things Are / Harper & Row / Copyright 1963 by Maurice Sendak.” This copy is signed by Maurice Sendak along the bottom right corner of the matte, in black pen.
This lithograph was issued in 1971 from the Sendak Archives at the Rosenbach Museum & Library, a small selection by Sendak himself of his favorite works. This is the first time this watercolor appears as a single sheet, not two images spread across two pages. The original limited distribution was not signed by Sendak.
