Thick octavo, 1147pp. Cloth spine, black boards. Title in gilt on spine. Top edge dyed yellow. Stated “First Edition” on copyright page, with full number line. Lean to top edge of text block, spine creased and cocked inward. Faint shelf wear to illustrated endpapers. Newspaper transference over signature. A very good example. In the publisher’s dust jacket, $22.95 retail price on front flap, toning to flap folds, shelf wear, a near fine example. Signed by the author on the verso of the front free endpaper.
