Second printing of You’ll be Sor-ree! by Dr. Sid Phillips, inscribed by Dr. Phillips and his sister, Katharine Phillips Singer, who were both featured in Ken Burns’ PBS series The War.
Octavo, 252pp. Black hardcover, title stamped in silver on spine. Stated “second printing” on copyright page. In the publisher’s near fine dust jacket, short closed tear to top edge of front panel, otherwise fine. Signed by the author on the title page: “To Denise + Surgio / Two American patriots / 2nd Timothy 1:7 / Pfc. Sid Phillips.” Additional inscription by his sister: “May we never forget those gallant men who saved our nation. Katharine Phillips Singer.”
Dr. Sid Phillips and his sister, Katharine Phillips Singer, were featured in Ken Burns’ PBS documentary about World War II, titled The War. Katharine became a national celebrity for her colorful commentary on the home front. Sid Philips was a Private First Class in the United States Marines, serving in Guadalcanal and Cape Gloucester. He was featured in the HBO Series The Pacific.
