This Christmas book from the Carter White House was printed on the 30th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The address was delivered in Washington, D.C. by President Carter on December 8, 1978. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948. It outlines 30 articles defining fundamental human rights that are universally protected. The UDHR was drafted by a committee chaired by Eleanor Roosevelt and has influenced many national constitutions and international laws.
