Promises to Keep: On Life and Politics was the first memoir by Senator Joe Biden, published by Random House on July 31, 2007. The book coincided with his 2008 presidential campaign, dropping out after coming in 5th place during the Iowa caucus. Seven months later, Biden was selected as Barack Obama’s vice president, serving in the role for eight years.
