Comments: Thomas Daniell and his nephew, William Daniell, sailed to Calcutta in early 1786, passing through China on the way. The 50 hand colored etchings included in “Picturesque Voyage to India” recount the authors trip through India, views of China and lifestyles of the indigenous citizens. Daniell is considered one of the best aquatinters in British history.
