Charles King (1844-1933) was the son of Civil War general, Rufus King. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1866 and served in multiple American conflicts, including the Indian Wars, the Spanish-American War, and the Philippine-American War. He saw active duty in the West and was wounded in the Modoc War of 1873.
