Comments: With these four volumes, Robert A. Caro has authored the definitive history of the life of President Lyndon Johnson, with the 5th Volume to cover the last years of his presidency and retirement. The Path to Power, released in 1982, won the National Book Critics Circle Award and was a finalist for the National Book Award. The 3rd volume, Master of the Senate, won the Pulitzer Prize for Biography and the National Book Award for Nonfiction.
