Octavo, 400pp. Black cloth, gilt title on spine. Publishers original dust jacket, very good. Inscribed by President Eisenhower on bookplate, affixed to front end paper: “For Edgar – from his brother / IKE.” A unique association copy.
Comments: Book is inscribed from President Eisenhower to his brother, Edgar N. Eisenhower. Edgar was the older brother of President Eisenhower and a practicing lawyer in Kansas. He was known to be an ultraconservative, often at odds with his brothers centrist views. He was a frequent guest at the White House and while they may have disagreed, he was always held in regard by his younger brother.
