Comments: One of the best accounts of business life in early Texas (Basic Texas Books 130). Francis Lubbock served as Governor of Texas during the Civil War. After his term, he served as aide-de-camp to Jefferson Davis. He returned to Texas after the war and served as Texas State Treasurer until 1891.
