Description
From the Gerald R. Ford Administration, the Oath of Office broadside, issued by the White House in 1974 to a handful of dignitaries. Signed by President Gerald R. Ford in the lower margin.
Framed in brown cherry wood, museum glass, white matte. Not examined outside of frame. Measures 17.5″ x 22.5″. The formatting for this broadside is identical to the presidential proclamations that were issued during the Ford and Carter Administrations.
Only two other known copies have have been sold, both from inside the White House. These include the copies given to presidential speechwriter Paul A. Theis and White House Chief Usher Rex Scouten.
This copy is from the office of Speaker of the House, Jim Wright, Jr., who gifted this copy to a legislative assistant. Rep. Wright served as the 48th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1987-1989.
