Octavo, 366pp. Original blue cloth publishers binding with gilt title on spine, gilt and black titles with illustrations on cover. Tight binding with clean pages. 173 illustrations by E. W. Kemble. Wear to edges of spine with some fraying to cloth. Interior front flyleaf has been reinforced, pg 15 has been professionally rebacked with no loss of text. Contains the following first edition points, including a publication date of 1885 on title page, with 1884 on copyright page, “Huck Decided to Leave” on Page 9, “Him and another Man” incorrectly listed as Page “88,”, misprint “was” for “saw” on page 57, on page 155 the last “5” is replaced. The heliotype slug appears on the Twain bust, with wrinkled tissue cover over portrait. An attractive copy in an attractive presentation case. (BAL 3415)
