A first edition, first printing of A Time to Heal, signed by President Gerald R. Ford. Octavo, 454pp. Blue cloth, title in gilt on spine and replicated gilt signature on cover. Stated “first edition” on copyright page, with full number line beginning at 1. Publishers first edition dust jacket, very good, price clipped, wear at top edge of spine. Book is inscribed by President Ford on frontispiece. Inscription reads: “To a Great Performer, Grace Rasmussen, best regards. Gerald R. Ford. 9/11/79.”
Comments: Gerald R. Ford served as Vice President following the resignation of Spiro Agnew in 1973. In the wake of the Watergate Scandal and the resignation of President Richard Nixon, Gerald R. Ford assumed the Presidency in 1974. He served from 1974-1977, before being defeated by Jimmy Carter during the 1976 presidential election.
