Original near fine acetate dust jacket, short closed tear along top edge near spine. Housed in publisher’s original red paper-covered slipcase, title label with childhood photo of the author mounted on side panel, gold label along spine printed with “Autographed edition” and limitation number of 396 added in ink. Short tear along top edge, light shelf wear. From a limited edition of 600 copies, this being number 396, signed by the author. A beautiful example.
Autobiographical story from Truman Capote’s childhood, which was originally published in Mademoiselle magazine in December 1956. The story was adapted for television in late 1966 and won two Emmy awards.
