Octavo, iv, 5-160pp. Publishers original green cloth, title in gilt on spine, blind stamped with decorative boards on both boards. All leaf ends marbled. Includes two fold-out maps and 8 double-page, tri-colored maps of the confederate states. Fold-out maps in near fine condition, depicting the full United States and the Peninsula Campaign in Virginia. (Sabin 24486) A scarce and valuable find for a Civil War collection.
Compiled and edited by Dr. Richard Swainson Fisher, MD, who also edited “Colton’s General Atlas of the World.” The maps from this work are from A.J. Johnson’s Civil War Maps, published in 1862.
