Publisher’s first state dust jacket, near fine, $12.95 retail price, with “0679” at bottom of front flap, light sunning to the spine, bright illustrations. Book is signed on the front free endpaper: “To my very good friend, Paul Jenkins, with appreciation for your many kindnesses. Best regards, Gerald R. Ford.”
Paul G. Jenkins (1927-2009) met President Ford after his presidency, competing in charity golf tournaments around Southern California. Jenkins, a former stock broker, was a Board Member of the Betty Ford Center and a Founding Trustee of the Eisenhower Medical Center. Ford and Jenkins remained friends until Ford’s death in 2006.
