    Arthur J. Goldberg (1908-1990) served as the United States Secretary of Labor in the Kennedy Administration, and was appointed to the Supreme Court by President Kennedy in 1962. He served for 3-years, before being asked by President Johnson to serve as United States Ambassador to the United Nations, filling the vacancy left by the untimely death of Adlai Stevenson.
