An attractive presentation of the serialized publication of African Game Trails.
African Game Trails was first published in Scribner’s Magazine from October 1909 to September 1910. Roosevelt was paid $50,000 for these pre-publication rights. In a letter from Charles Scribner to the Houghton Library, “Before Colonel Roosevelt started his trip in the spring of 1909, he requested that he be provided with pads and carbons so that he might write his articles during the progress of the hunting trip, and send them in duplicate….” (Cole & Vail, A29b)
