In the publisher’s first state dust jacket, $2.50 on front flap, no additional printings noted on front flap, tape repairs to verso, chipping at spine, a very good example. Richard E. Byrd (1888-1957) was an American naval officer and polar explorer. He is known for being the first explorer to reach the North Pole and South Pole by air, but the North Pole claim remains in dispute.
