The Pulitzer Prize winning history of America in the King Years, the three-volume history of the Civil Rights movement from 1954-1968, with each volume signed by the author, Taylor Branch.

Thick octavo, [three volumes], all with paper boards, half cloth spines. All first printings, with full number lines on the copyright pages. All three volumes in fine condition, solid text blocks, no notable wear. In the publisher’s first state dust jackets, all with the retail price on the front flap, touch of shelf wear to Volume II, fine examples. Each volume signed and dated by the author.

Inscribed in Volume I: “For Harold, with best wishes, Taylor Branch 1/11/89.”

Inscribed in Volume II: “For Harold Mays, with best wishes, Taylor Branch / June 18, 1998.”

Volume III is signed and dated by the author in the year of publication.

The first volume of this trilogy, Parting The Waters (1954 – 1963) won the 1989 Pulitzer Prize for History and National Book Critics Circle Award.
