Octavo, [two volumes], [xii], 502pp; [x], 503-1028pp. Three quarter cloth, gray paper boards. Title printed on paper label affixed to spine. Top edge gilt. Stated “Published October, 1906” on copyright page. Stated copy 13 of 250 on limitation page. Solid text blocks, light soiling to both volumes, some sunning to spines. Complete with four illustrations in each volume, including frontispieces with tissue guards. Lew Wallace clipped signature affixed to frontispiece of Volume I.
As stated on limitation page: “There is in the first volume of each copy a photogravure portrait of General Wallace and his autograph.” Due to the autobiography’s posthumous publication, the signature beneath the frontispiece was clipped from a preexisting letter/note.
