Folio. Three-quarter calf, marbled paper covered boards. Five raised bands, title stamped in blind on spine. Full letter line listed on bottom of copyright page. Solid text block, faint foxing along edges, otherwise fine. Complete with 435 individual plates. A nice copy of an iconic piece on ornithology based on the work of John James Audubon.
This first trade edition was preceded by a limited edition of 2,500 numbered copies. Professionally rebound by Ballantine Bookcrafts in Yellow Springs, Ohio in the late 1980s.
