Octavo, [unpaginated]. Brown leather, title in gilt on spine and front panel, embossed decorative covers, decorative gilt on spine. All gilt leaf ends. Wear at edges, some loss at bottom of spine. Occasional spotting and foxing. Signatures were procured by W.H. Johnson, the Assistant Quartermaster under General Ulysses S. Grant, starting in 1867. The following notable signatures are included in the album: President Andrew Johnson, General Ulysses S. Grant, Secretary of War John Aaron Rawlins, Brigadier General Cyrus B. Comstock, Horace Porter, General Nelson A. Miles, Brigadier General Adam Badeau, Brigadier General Ely S. Parker and others.
