Description
First edition of Black Magic by Kenneth L. Roberts, in publisher’s scarce dust jacket.
Octavo, [6], 250pp. Black cloth, with title in gilt on spine and front board. No additional printings listed on copyright page. Solid text block, faint foxing to title page, some loss of gilt on spine, a near fine example. In publisher’s dust jacket, price-clipped, chipping along edges, separation along edges of front panel, soiling to covers, a very good example of a scarce jacket.
Kenneth Roberts wrote historical fiction, winning the Pulitzer Prize Special Citation in 1957 for his novels focusing on early American history. Black Magic contains a selection of his essays originally written for the Saturday Evening Post.
