Raymond Carver (1938-1988) was an influential American writer and poet, renowned for his minimalist style and relatable depiction of working-class life. He published several acclaimed short-story collections, including, What We Talk About When We Talk About Love, Cathedral, and Where I’m Calling From. Carver was widely admired for his writing, receiving five O. Henry Awards throughout his career and a nomination for the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1984.
