Frontispiece portrait with Columbus Coat of Arms. Clean text throughout. Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper: “To James Fletcher Esq, United States Counsel. In thankful recognition of many courtesies + favors. B.F. Stevens.” An exceptional copy.

Comments: The author of this work, Benjamin Franklin Stevens (1833 – 1902) was a noted bibliographer and the US Dispatch agent in London. A facsimile of this book was published in Mexico in 1992.
