Octavo, [viii], 368pp. Green cloth, title stamped in silver on spine. Includes “Scribner’s A” on copyright page, but no seal. Tarr notes that advance and proof copies all contained the Scribner’s “A,” but lacked the seal, making this a first issue. Light sunning along top edge, solid text block.
Includes the publisher’s first state dust jacket, $2.50 on front flap, scuff mark to spine with loss of illustration, bright illustrations, a very good example. (Tarr A5.1.a)
