Carver on front endpaper. From a limited edition of 650 copies signed by Secretary McAdoo, this being number 97. A fine example.

    William G. McAdoo (1863-1941) worked on the successful campaign of President Woodrow Wilson and served as the Secretary of the Treasury from 1913-1918. During his time in the Wilson administration, he courted and married Eleanor Wilson, the youngest daughter of President Wilson and Ellen Louise Axson. McAdoo ran unsuccessfully for president twice, in 1920 and 1924. He served as the Democratic Senator for California from 1933-1938.
