Thick octavo, ix, [1], 11-628pp, [2pp ads]. Full brown morocco, four raised bands, title in gilt on spine. All edges gilt. Solid text block, light wear to morocco along edges, a few small stains to spine. Faint toning to endpapers, otherwise fine interior. Complete with 14 full-page portraits, each protected with tissue guard.
Full-page portraits depict the following “Eminent Women:” Rosa Bonheur, Florence Nightingale, Lydia H. Sigourney, Empress Eugenie, Margaret Fuller Ossoli, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Emma Willard, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, Queen Victoria, Adelaide Ristori, Ann E. Dickinson, Mrs. C.S.
