Signed copy of Etiquette: “The Blue Book of Social Usage” by Emily Post, in a scarce dust jacket.

Octavo, xii, [2], 893pp, [3]. Blue cloth, title in gilt on spine and front cover. Stated “Complete New Edition, 1940 Edition, Third Printing, April, 1941” on the copyright page. Solid text block, light usage. Faint dust remnants along top of text block, light rubbing along lower tips of the spine. Complete with frontispiece and 23 full-page black and white illustrations. In the publisher’s scarce dust jacket, $4.00 on both flaps, stated “1941 Edition” on the front panel, closed tear along top edge of front panel, a near fine example.

Emily Post’s “Etiquette in Society, in Business, in Politics, and at Home” was first issued in 1922 by Funk & Wagnalls in New York, and was reprinted multiple times within its first year due to its popularity. A revised and enlarged second edition followed in 1923, and further updates appeared throughout the 1920s and 1930s as Post adapted advice to modern life.
