Previous ownership label on half title. In publisher’s near fine dust jacket, $5.95 price on front flap, light wear to top edge of spine, otherwise bright illustrations. Signed by author on front free endpaper.

Sherman Adams served as the White House Chief of Staff for President Dwight D. Eisenhower. His long service as Chief of Staff ended in 1958 when it was discovered that Adams had accepted gifts from a textile manufacturer under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission. This was the only substantial scandal to hit the White House during the Eisenhower Administration.
