Description
A personal note from former President William J. Clinton to Walter Kaye, a retired insurance executive and close friend of Hillary Clinton. Mr. Kaye advised the Clintons on their personal insurance liability as it related to the Paula Jones sexual harassment suit. At the same time, Mr. Kaye recommended Monica Lewinsky for a White House internship, through his relationship with her mother, Marcia Lewis. The note is written on William J. Clinton stationary and dated 1/25/06. The note and envelope are framed. The note reads: “Dear Walter – Thanks for the gifts. They’re great. I hope you’re doing well. I hear through the grapevine that you are! Best, Bill.”
Comments: Even through all the turmoil of the Monica Lewinsky affair and subsequent impeachment, President Clinton remained close enough with Mr. Kaye to write him personalized notes.
