Octavo, xi, [1], 425pp. Brick red cloth, title in gilt on spine, 96 plates (including frontispiece) with illustrations from black and white photographs. Solid binding, a few stray pencil marks, but text generally clean. Covers rubbed with spotting, spine ends worn, shelf wear to bottom edge of volume. Previous owner’s bookplate on front pastedown endpaper and name written in ink on title page. Two color postcards laid-in. A nice copy of this work by noted anthropologist Frederick Starr.
